A friend of mine was going through his father's garage(whom passed away recently) and came across a carton of CIL Dommion 22 LR the carton has never been open there are 10 boxes of 50 rounds each. He does not want them, so he gave them to me. My question is should I shoot these or are they collector fodder?

I would put them away in some dark and cool place, they will be worth a lot more some day than what you will pay for the price of Dynapoints or Wildcats today...

BD..

the boxes have collecter value the ammo not so much.if you shoot them dont do it in anything but a bolt gun.i blew the extractor out of my browning blr shooting old whizbangs.the problen is the brass gets brittle and ruptures.

If it's older than 20 or 25 years or so, store it away. Anyone know for sure how long rimfire ammo stays 'fresh'? Remember, CIL ain't around anymore.

I chronagrafed some 50yr.+ .22 HP whizbang DOMINION ammo.Velocity was 1355 f.p.s, box said it should be 1365 f.p.s. Used Remington 10C.
