After handling a Citori Feather, a year or so ago, I have been looking for one in 28 gauge. This past weekend, while at one of my usual shopping locations, the owner asked me if I would be interested in a 20/28/410 three barrel set . I had no use for a 410, so given the posted price, I declined. The owner then offered me the set for $800 less, with GST included. I asked to try the gun for fit, and it fit and swung beautifully with 28" barrels, so I ended up taking it home. Now the only problem, is that I have to sell two other guns to pay for it.

I am curious as to just how many other forum members have multiple barrel sets of hunting shotguns.

For a few years I had a three-barrel Winchester 101 skeet set in the same gauges that I also used for upland hunting. I had choke tubes installed on the 20 and 28 barrels for use on live birds. The .410 was only used for skeet as I never gained enough confidence with it to use it on game. What the gun taught me is that the 28 gauge doesn't give up much to the 20 for all practical purposes and that shooters who can run 100 straight with a .410 deserve respect. Eventually I sold the set to buy a higher-grade 28 gauge o/u. I do miss the three-barrel set however and it is one of the few guns that I regret selling.

The 28 gauge has become a favorite of mine, and I shoot more skeet with my 28 gauge than with all others combined. However, I may shoot the 20 gauge for live birds on occasion. As for the 410, I likely won't use it much, except perhaps to introduce future grandchildren to shotgunning.

I had a 4 ga set. It was heavy to carry hunting all day but I shot that gun extremely well. All gages. Now the only multi barreled options bi have are my mossberg pumps or rem 1100. I do still use 410 tubes in my sxs's though

Seems like an odd combo for a hunting rig, but as you know, lots have multi-barrel sets for skeet. The full combo makes it an interesting conversation piece, and attractive to future buyers (though limited in number) I would think.

I have mint Rem 1100's in 12, 20, 28 and .410... I also have Win 101's in 12 and 20 gauge... Nice combos at the range or in the field... my 1100 28 gauge probably sees the field the most.

I shot two rounds of skeet with the 410 barrels tonight, and I actually didn't do all that bad with it, although it is certainly easy to see the difference between the 28, and the 410.

I have a 20,28,410 Citori and SKB combos. Both are great upland guns! Like Claybuster I have never been confident enough to use the .410 on game.
