I notice track of the wolf is selling these clamp on hose adaptors for flushing the barrel/touchhole with water, does anybody have any experience with this tool, does it work alright?

I have used both, flint and percussion versions. If you have trouble getting your barrel off the stock this is a stock saver. ie no water touches your wood.

If you can remove the barrel from the stock then don't bother.

My Flintlock has never, ever been touched by hot water. I believe in the waterless cleaning method first suggested by Dutch Schoultz. It made sense to me many years ago and now tens of years later still makes great sense. For detailed info go here: www.blackpowderrifleaccuracy.com/wcs.html. As a chef, I would kill anyone washing out my cast iron pans with hot soapy water; that completely destroys the 'seasoning' in the metal and causes overnight rusting. Why should my flintlock barrel be any different. It first took me eight months of running a patch soaked with WD40 down the barrel every Sunday evening, whether I had been shooting or not; until I had all the moisture from the pores of the metal replaced by oil. Now, at least 12 years later, I can go for three months or longer without any signs of rust. I can even leave it for a couple days before cleaning with no signs of rusting either. Cleaning up after a shoot now uses about 5 to 6 patches, with WD40 if it is really badly fouled, to come totally clean. One important condition is I only use real Holy Black powder; never any of the heathen substitutes. I have heard that the substitutes contain chlorates and sugars, both of these are just bad juju for a gun barrel; they create corrosive acidic compounds and caramelization that is very hard to remove.
