Classic Battle Rifle Match - Chilliwack May 12

I got approval from the club to run three Classic Battle Rifle Matches this season. The dates are May 12, Aug 11 and Nov 3. This match is for any military issue rifle 6.5 mm or larger. You can use a bolt action Lee Enfield, Semi-Auto SKS, etc.

There is generally 5 different shooting positions used during the match and you will shoot out to distances of 200 yards.

Match registration is now open for Chilliwack Fish and Game Protective Association members. Registration opens to other clubs on 28 April. There is a limit of 40 spots. Information to goes on club website in a few day as Morgan is out of town. Email me at robertpaddon@hotmail.com in the interim.

That RB guy is a tough one to beat. I'm second fiddle to him in the bolt action category AGAIN ! ! ! !

I may have to resort to actually sighting in to a finer degree and actually PRACTICE ! ! ! :D

For any of you that have old bolt action WWII rifles and don't mind actually shooting them this is an event you MUST TRY. It's a real blast and a half. There's really only so much we can do with them at a normal rifle range but Rob has done his darndest to make the whole thing as interesting as it can be.

Attendance was down this time likely due to it being Mother's Day weekend. I know it was on the Saturday to try not to conflict but I suspect that more than a few folks went out of town to visit good ol' Mom and that hurt a bit.

Spoiler alert. Knowing that there's interest in spicing up this event a bit I suggested a 25yard grenade toss from prone into an 8x8 ft "machine gun nest" for the next event. Now I'm in charge of that part. Should be a nice change from trigger pulling and give us all a lot of laughs.
