Classic Division: Major or Minor?

I have gotten off the fence. I just ordered a STI Trojan 5.0 in 9mm with a F/O front sight, ambi safeties & mag well. I need to wait just a little while until the blued safeties & mag well arrive from STI.
:D

I have two 1911s ready to go for this division. One in 9mm and one in .45. I am looking forward to the my first match in this division. Is the Classic option offerered at any match you go to in Ontario now?

Yup, Make sure you mark it on your score sheet at the match and when you sign up. I have seen several shooters shooting a Classic division gun but forgot (or didn't know) to enter as Classic and end up registering in Standard

Alot of chatter in the begining of this thread on American rules.
As I don't keep up on their rules; are they limited to 8 rounds in major and ten in minor or are they just limited to ten?
Thanks

I was one leaning towards major over minor. Though I never shot a 9mm out of a 1911 gun before, till today. It was much softer shooting than I figured or was led to believe...
I can now see, how it may actually be advantageous to have the extra 2 rounds over less but major..
Practise always is needed to do well with any gun, but with softer recoil and less muzzle flip, one should be able to shoot more efficiently/and quicky & w/ 2 extra rnds...
Now got me thinking about new toy...

I switched to Classic as soon as the rule was official. Just shot my second match with the 9mm Trojan and I'm loving it!!!

Same gun I am using for Classic. Don't you just love that thing? I thought 9mm 1911s weren't supposed to be reliable? :)

Yes, they are 8 major/10 minor, that's where the rule originates from.

 dont say that! a certain megalomaniac may remove that rule just on those grounds alone
IPSC thought that up all by itself, no way would they copy anything those backwards USPSA folk do. Thats why we can't have rails, are allowed bull barrels & race holsters and have our magwells restricted. So IPSC can show USPSA the right way to do things

Too much politics in the shooting sports! I just want to have fun! :D
