classifications and uplifts

haha, well, seeing how there aren't enough GM, or M, or even As in production to 'count', I won't be paying to have my scores from any upcoming ICS stages forwarded - I'll be happy to stay a B, since nothing higher will get recognized (and most of my local competition is also classed B (Earl, Tan, etc). Haha, just noticed, Brent who came in at 98.9% in Barrie is a C!

You know, I think that ICS should be used as a minimum class you can declare at the nationals. Personally, I think that people like ipsc1, Nick M, myself, Brent, Tan, Slavex, etc should be able to say "just shove us into a higher class, and we'll see what happens."

With ICS, it seems like the idea is that some quantified system, no matter how unrealistic its results are, is better than an "estimated" one.

I don't mind getting bumped into the top class with those aforementioned names, in fact, I would prefer that. But if that's not going to happen, fine, I'll deal with the system as it is now, and go to Kingston a B.

ICS Scores have nothing to do with whither there is a Master or a Grand Master at a match. it is based on who shoot that stage somewhere or sometime.

Well, ICS score submission is included in the $30 match fee for our next match.

you shouldn't be doing that, since there are people who don't have ipsc aliases, and who don't care about ICS scores (without aliases, you can't submit the results, so it's a little presumptious to force everyone to pay for something not everyone wants or even can take advantage of).

The ICS fee should be an optional addition ontop of the match fee (or, in your case, an optional opt-out refund).

I, for example, am not going to provide my alias on the score sheet, nor do I want to pay any ICS fees - I'm just coming there for an IPSC Ontario level 2 ;) If there is no way to opt out of ICS, I'll just shoot it in Std and get my ass kicked, haha!

Quite the opposite.

The match fee was established at $30 before we were asked to include a number of ICS stages, which cost a small amount of money to submit. $30 is pretty much the going rate for Level IIs, I think you'll agree.

As far as opting out... I don't know anything about that, but I will find out. I will make sure competitors can opt out of ICS submission. I'm sure it will be fine to just not provide an ICS alias.

Afraid you'll shoot the stages and drop down to a C :p

hahaha, well, that might just happen after today's ICS match at Barrie!!!
4 stages, 2 went fairly well... 2... well... didn't... What it is with me and the ability to zero an ICS stage a match?? ;)

Dan, re $30, of course, I didn't realize you guys were throwing the ics stuff in as a bonus; around here, most of the time there is a match fee, and they make a point of collecting the extra ($5, is it?) for ICS submissions.

Haha, going like this, there won't be any problems with my shooting the ics stuff in EOHC, I'll definitely not go up, only down.

Maybe we should do what ipsc1 does in NS, have a bunch of ICS stages, using the (30% bigger, and thus so much easier) Metric targets... ;)

I'm glad we didn't have any of the these ICS stages in Barrie last weekend - man, that was painful! I mean, I fired 5 slow aimed shots at this one small partial, and ended up with 4 in the black!! (and it wasn't even a swinger! :D ) Kent was there, running the show, I could almost feel him thinking "uuuhhhhh... what are you doing?" ;) One of the other guys asked me if I did it on purpose... Unfortunately not
