Clay shooting near Montreal

Here is a list form Joe's website:
http://www.losttarget.com/quebec/

There is also Le Pionnier which is a little past Le Gardeur. It is a hand thrown sporting, rifle and pistol range.

Montreal Skeet and Le Club de la Roue du Roy are private. You can shoot their events. There is a good fundraiser shoot at L'Acadie May 16th. But you will have a rare experience shooting the varied target presentations at La Roue June 6-7. Be warned that you must preregister!

Regards,
Henry;)

Dear Henry

What do you mean by hand thrown at the Pionnier in LeGardeur? They have manual traps and trap boys to throw targets. Many sporting clays courses have manual traps, not everybody can buy all automatics. I acknowledge that it is a soft course but fun to shoot.

Hand thrown, means manual machines. There is a very limited amount of possibilities when using manual machines, among others: no incoming (too dangerous for the trapper!), no quartering in (same), no distance, no curving targets at distance, limits of around 30 yards for manuals compared to unlimited for autos. I have know Pionnier when he first openned. The course has not changed much if at all over the years. It is a feel good course for novices. You will not learn any technique from shooting there.

I am now on my 20th year of shooting Sporting Clays from North America to Africa and Europe. I have seen and experienced a great number of different venues and many, many different targets. Lately, I have not been in the winners circle much (I did have a 2nd place though in March at Orvis Sandanona!!) lately, I shoot for fun. When I get lucky, I do well: posting the first perfect score on a FITASC Pacour in International competition (Belgian Championship 07).

"It is better to be lucky, than good and unlucky!"

If you want to learn to shoot clays, go to L'Acadie or La Roue du Roy!

Regards,
Henry;)

C'mon Henry, be fair, if you want to learn sporting clays you really should come to Alberta, more sporting courses than anywhere else, and the hospitality is "IMPOSSIBLE" to beat.

regards
Jason
ps, less tax too.

Alberta is the most active sporting clay area in Canada with the smallest density of clay shooters! Alberta beats out even the clay shooting capital, Toronto for the number of sporting events and number of targets thrown!

I was all set tog last year untill some health problems canned it. This year, I am all booked for shoots already and spending a month in Europe ths July shooting the Italian and Euro. When I get back, the following week I go to the R.I. for the Great Eastern Hidefspex Lobster. Early September, there is the Orvis Cup and then a week of meetings for the National Gas Code.

I will have to try to make Alberta during goose season in late October while in Hana. There is got to be a shoot around that time!

Regards,
Henry;)
PS: Give my best to Doug Harvey and tell him that I will call him this week!
