Clay target shooting in forest?!

Do you intend to pack out all of your expended hulls, plastic wads and clay target shards? Or do you intend like so many others to leave all that crap behind in the forest for others to find? There are few things worse for the image of gun owners than discovering where some slob shooter has littered public lands with the refuse from informal clay target shooting.

There are about a dozen clubs to shoot clay targets within a couple hours drive from your location. Most of them permit non-members to shoot. Why not use them as opposed to risk being a slob shooter?
 
Most new shooters are worried that it will be embarassing to have people see them miss. Its an unjustified fear. EVERYONE shooting at a club started out somewhere and had lots of misses. NO ONE will laugh at you.

Pick a club near you. Call them and explain your situation. Most likely you will find them to be most accomodating. They may go as far as lining up someone to mentor/guide/coach you your first time out. You will learn more in one afternoon than years of shootinig on your own in the woods. Try it. What do you have to lose?

You pick up wads and shattered clays? You're hardcore man!

Shells yes, the rest, no.
 
Always wanted to bring a thrower and some clays with me ice fishing. Can't ask for a flatter ground with a big sky background but then I always thought oh man would a mess to clean up that would be so it will always remain just a funny daydream. I'll just keep shooting them at the club.
