Hi there
Just looking for input...
After shooting sabot wrapped slugs thru my rifled shotgun barrel, when cleaning see a buildup of something in the barrel, the normal push with hoppes then oil isn't cutting it, any input on this? I shoot a fair bit, and never have an issue with rifle barrels, they always come good with a minimum of attention, is it plastic buildup in the barrel? Any suggestions ?

Yes, the buildup is probably plastic. Lead deposits look shinny after you get done with a bore brush. Get some copper scouring pads, use a magnet to ensure its copper, unwrap it, and cut a piece large enough to make a couple of wraps around your bore brush, apply some JB Bore cleaner to it, then use a back and forth motion with the cleaning rod, as you extend it through the bore. Neither lead or stubborn plastic will stand up to that combination. When a barrel is badly fouled, I'll attach the brush to a steel rod I have for the purpose and spin it with a cordless drill at low rpm, while I`m working it back and forth, taking care to ensure the rod does not contact the bore. But this is pretty hard core for a personal gun that sees light use.

Look up the formula for Ed's Red.
Pretty good at removing plastic fouling as well as powder, etc.
Cheap, too!
