Cleaning 10/22 plastic mags

Having a boating accident.
I was having a beech of a time with my 10/22 yesterday, when I realized that the mags were full of gunge. Now, I can clean the feed lips a bit, but because these mags don't come apart (Butler creek) there is no good way of getting inside them. Anyone have tips or tricks on cleaning these puppies out?

Don't want to put anything on them that would melt the plastic.

Get a good gun cleaner with a hose(like the hose on the WD40) and test it on the plastic. Don't just spray and wipe and think you are good, really test it. Spray the $h!t out of it. Then let it dry and oil it a little .
 
Hot soapy water is what the package suggests, I tried it and it worked good. Make sure to rinse them out well.
