cleaning a new sks?

Hi all, just got my SKS for Marstar yesterday.This is my first SKS and i am wondering what is the best way to remove all of the gresse and oil as this thing is coated everywhere. Looking forward to a trip to the range with it!

These SKS's are the worst for cosmoline I seen so far! I took them all appart, used a full can of carb cleaner and washed the stock with soap and water.

Like another guy said on the forum, you can also bring your stock to a car wash and spray the #### out of it. When I get back home thats the first place im going

I cleaned mine with WD-40 both spray and on a rag. It is an excellent solvent.

obviously theres a need to have a sticky so i merged the two best threads and stuck it , see sticky above.
