Cleaning a Stainless Ruger Single Six

Incidentally, after fumbling around Canadian Tire for a while this weekend (the help is useless at my local), I could only find a couple of products and picked up some Mothers® Billet Metal Polish.

Gave this a whirl on the front of the cylinder, under the top strap and forcing code etc. and it works quite well with minimal effort. It's a bit addictive, mind you, and had to be careful not to proceed to polish the entire pistol to a high SS gloss!!

And Oh... my wedding band looks practically brand new and now I feel like polishing my keys..... (I told you it's addictive - and I don't even have a buffing wheel of any sort!!)

The best way to clean the cylinder when it gets really leaded up is to remove it and let it soak for about 4 days in regular hoppes. All the lead will have turned to a black goop and it will wipe right off.
No work involved I've been cleaning my stainless Vaquaro like this for four years.
