Cleaning gas systems on autoloaders?

Make ? :D , anyway get all those parts clean , and allways do a pre fire cleaning to make certain all lube is removed in this area. If you don't its more of a mess. Bronze brushes, erasors , whatever you use , don't get carried away and damage these parts.

BreakFree CLP works wonders here, dissolving the current baked on crud, and then stopping any future crud from baking on. Shoot the system 'wet', meaning spray it on the gas rings/pistons/mag tube, whatever, and don't wipe it off. Don't go overboard of course, but leave it looking wet, IYKWIM.

Then, a single swipe with a rag removes ALL the powder residue. That's it. One swipe. No steel wool or brushes or soaking or solvents or scraping. You will not be disappointed. I've not seen any other lube or solvent do this.

thanks guys this is exactly the kind f info I was looking for. I gave it a cleaning with the brake clean and it worked like a charm.

Whoa whoa whoa, did you use 'brake cleaner' or BreakFree? Two entirely different things here.

Keeping you on your toes aren't I.:D
I used the breakfree clp product that you had suggested but that was fast only 20 hours to respond to my slip on the name. That was a test! You have passed with flying colors and are obviously ever vigilant in keeping us fools from screwing up our shotguns grouseman.;)

The ony sure way for us to make sure you don't screw up your guns is to send them to us. We'll take good care of them.

I'm even in B.C. so you can visit them easily.

I'll keep that advice in mind. :D

The late AL Parsons (AOB) told me the best way to clean off the cosmoline used on new, in the box, military firearms was break cleaner.
I guess this would be the only use for break cleaner on a firearm.
I've read a lot of good things about Break Free but I've yet to find any retail outlet that carries it in the greater Montreal area.

I believe Wholesale Sports sells it online.

So you can spray this on the rings and piston of an 1100 and shoot it wet?
