When you feel its hard to seat a patched ball run some T/C # 13 on a patch, that will get the fouling out so you can carry on. A dry patch to soak up any of the liquid is also recomended ( a twist of the ramrod). Clean with hot water at days end.

I seldom clean during my shooting session, but I always give it a good cleaning at the end of the day. I know of some that only clean at the end of the season, and their rifle look like it too.

If you are getting ready to hunt with it cleaning every two shots is fine. When I work up a hunting load I do a thoural cleaning every two shots so I can see if it has a different point of impact.
The powder, bullet type, load you use will make a difference on how often you have to clean for all day shooting. Some will require a spit patch every shot to get great groups.
If you have a breach plugmake sure you lube it well so it comes out easy...I just tried teflon tape for the first time seemed to work well, gorilla grease works good as does never seize.
I use a Q-tip to lube the threads in the barrel.
