cleaning kit for .58 cal BP

Use an Outers shotgun cleaning rod and 20/28 guage bronze brushes for cleaning plus warm water. When the brushes are new, you will have to twist them as you start to pull back but after they get worn that is not a problem. If you have a long barrel (42") buy 2 rods so you can add an extra section to make it long enough.
Protect your bore with Fluid Film which is a spray type light grease for corrosion protection; spray it on the cleaning patch after drying the barrel.

Thanks Guys for the suggestions.

re Fluid Film I have used that for years with my milsurps after shooting for protection from the effects of corrosive ammo. I had not thought of using for the BP ones as well.

I have tried all manner of concoctions for my guns and feel that Fluid Film is by far the best because it is non volatile and because it does not appear to migrate on a gun stored vertically.
