My first gun is a Kel Tec Sub 2000, 9mm (cheap centerfire ammo, can fire it at indoor pistol ranges). I am looking for a cleaning kit/supplies for that and other firearms in the future.

What I think I need (but please feel free to comment):

  • A rod for cleaning the bore.
  • A set of brushes (I heard nylon are the best, metal can scratch) that fit the rod... specifically a brush that fits 9mm.
  • A bunch of cleaning patches
  • Cleaner and lube... I was thinking an all in one product like G96 Gun Treatment (or Break-Free CLP, but I can't seem to find that online in Canada).

Does this seem about right? Anyone know a good online retailer that would have all that stuff? specifically, I had a hard time finding 9mm nylon brushes.

I also thought about one of those All-In-One kits, but they seem to have a lot of crap I don't really need.

You have it about right.

No need to buy online. Go down to Al Flarehty's, Target Sports, or Al Simmons in Hamilton and explain your situation, and they will set you up.
