I bought that over under I was telling you about last week. I started cleaning it yesterday boy was it dirty. Cleaned and oild it up but there are black steaks just past the chamber and just before the choke tubes. What is the best cleaner for removing plastic. Going to keep working on it with what I have and using a bronze brush.

Go to the dollar store, buy a package of the copper scouring pads. Pull the pad apart so you have a couple of strings, wrap them around your brass brush and start running it up and down you barrel. You might have to do this several times with more peices of copper. It works for removing lead too. If that dosen't work PM me.

I use a cleaning rod with no handle with a shotgun brush on the other end. I wrap some extra fine (0000) steel wool on the brush so it is quite tight in the bore. I hold the rod in my cordless drill and while spinning run it back and forth in the barrel. It removes plastic very quick and does not harm the bore.

Most of the Gunnutz have heard of Sharp ShootR brand "Wipe Out" bore cleaner for rifles. They have a special variation of the product for black powder shooters and shotgun shooters. Its Called Wipe Out "Painless" It dissolves the plastic wadding and plastic sabot material left behind in the bores of the rifles and shotguns so it can be swabbed right out without using a scrubbing action of wire brushes.
For shotgun shooters a helpful tip--buy a can of the Sharp ShootR spray lubricant called "Slicker". Spray it down the bore of your cleaned shotgun barrel and wad adhesion and fouling will vertially disappear.Repeat the process every time you clean your gun.

+2 this is what I use, and it works great. Many of the old shotgun books show this as well. :)

I use the same method and Guntech and Calum but instead of steel wool I build the brush up with brass pot scrubber pad. You want to build it up enough so it is a very snug fit in the barrel.

This method is excellent. I use whatever bore cleaner I have on hand, soak the barrel with it, and then get the drill going. It's fantastic.

A 10 gauge brush in a drill press works very well on choke tubes BTW.
