Cleaning Ported Barrel

Just bought my first BT-99 (Also just shot my first clean round using it . Notice the sly way I slipped that in so no one would notice how proud I am! ). It has a 34 inch ported barrel on it that just seems to work very well for me. Now the question. Is it important to clean the ports on the barrel? Is there any decent (easy?) way of doing this? Hack saw.....

That notwithstanding, a good bore cleaner that will 'melt' away the plastic and powder so that you can wipe the porting out. I've tried pipe cleaners with moderate success.

Using a ported barrel and keeping it clean are often mutually exclusive events.

Use gun... clean gun... use gun... clean gun...
Easier to wash dishes right after you eat vs leaving them on the counter over night.

Cleaning after use is the easiest way to keep your gun clean. As mentioned, use a bore cleaner everytime.
