cleaning procedure after firing hard cast lead

Is it the same process to clean lead as it is copper? Im shooting hard cast lead for the first time in a rifle of mine and am curious as to the best method of getting the bore clean.

Pretty well the same unless you have bad build up of lead. I usually let the solvent soak for 5 or 10 minutes no matter what bullets iam shooting. A bad build up and your in for some work.

if your barrel gets only a slight buildup, a few jacketed bullets will clear that.
if the buildup is heavier, find a copper choreboy (use a magnet), wrap a piece of it on a used brush or mop and scrape the lead off
lead is mostly chemically inert aka impervious to chemicals
