Cleaning question

I just stripped down my rem 700 varmint, cleaned her up with some G96 complete gun treatment.

One thing I noticed with the cleaning rags is they leave some fibers on the barrel and pretty much anywhere I had cleaned.

The issue is it tends to stick to the oil and the only way to get rid of most of it at least is to completely dry the barrel or wherever its applied to and blow it off.

I had also noticed a piece about roughly 1 mm in diameter inside the bore which I couldn't remove.

Anyway my question is, should I be worried about this?

Go cut up some cotton flannel and live happily ever after.

Crud in barrel is not my idea of a good thing.

Well wouldn't the first shot more or less burn what fibers were left inside the barrel itself? I couldn't imagine some cotton fibers making a huge impact on accuracy. But then again i'm a big noob so what do i know

I was just wondering if I should go back and re-clean all the parts, trigger assembly, chamber, bolt etc with what you said, some cotton flannel that wont leave fibers behind.

I get that really bad on my Remington shotgun. If its anything like mine, its that finish they put on it that grabs fibers. I'd take parkerizing over it anyday.

Bloody Remchesters... oversized firing pin holes, failed extractors, 8lb triggers, and burrs so bad you can't clean them, not only on the inside of the barrel, but on the OUTSIDE of the barrel too! ...Just when I thought I'd heard it all.
Sorry.
Make sure your barrel is free of obstructions before use. ;)
