Cleaning rod for 17 hmr

One for a .177 air rifle will work just fine. After removing the factory oil, you shouldn't have to clean that thing for at least 500 rounds or more. Sometimes less is more with rimfire barrels.

. You will need a bore guide so the the rod doesn’t get damaged. The chamber will need looking after, a carbon ring will form where the chamber and barrel meet. The ring will throw off the accuracy. I bought a Dewey rod, with the pointed jag for the felt button cleaning system

yodave has the bore guides, best bet is to get a hold of him and find out if he has any 17 cal cleaning rods to go with it, a simple google search shows his website

I didn't know yodave carried that stuff, but he'd be a great guy to contact. I used (and still do) the Patchworm kit from 20/20 Concepts, and have a .17 cal kit from them too. For all other cleaning supplies like rods/brushes/bore guides...I'd also suggest Nordic Marksman. Brad there has been a great resource, and he has lots of small bore cleaning supplies. Don't hesitate to ask for help/suggestions if you contact Nordic, their willingness to help makes it awfully tempting to get everything you need from them.

My experience with yodave (CZ Trigger business) has been super-positive too.
