So… having discovered a large qty of sub gauge hulls in my basement, I am looking for advice on how to clean shotshell hulls prior to loading.
They are sooty, gritty, and dirty, with sawdust and drywall dust throughout.
Nothing I would like to put through a sizing die on my press.
Short of hand wiping / cleaning each one…. And knowing my wife will damage me severely if I put them through the washing machine or dishwasher….
Anyone have any techniques to share for cleaning them up?

You can't wash any hulls with paper base wad.
You would certainly need to ensure that moisture didn't remain between the metal base and plastic tube of all plastic hulls.
I clean range pick-up hulls with a cloth outside, and a bore brush inside. We have a fine sand range soil.
