Cleaning the 10/22

I was wondering if someone can give me great tips on cleaning my 10/22, since im new at this and i dont want to mess anything up, thanks

Get some nice gunoil. I use CLP Break Free. It breaks down grime (10/22 gets pretty damn dirty after a few thousand rounds) and protects the gun and lubricates it. Took rust right off my shotgun. Ya and i use a tooth brush. You might want to invest in a .22 cleaning kit to get in the barrel.
