Anyone know who does a really good job of clear coating stocks and what the ball park price would be to finish a stock?

At this point I am looking for a couple of stocks for rifles and love the look of clear coated laminate wood but do not have the know how or equipment to finish the laminate the way I want.

The other alternative is to just buy fiberglass stocks.

Tru Oil with a sealer or double boiled linseed oil, depending on how much sheen you want on your stock. There are some pretty good wood finishing products available at Lee Valley. Just make sure that what you get won't yellow in the sunshine. Price on finishing will depend on what grade of finish you want and the overall style of the stock. The more extravagant the stock, the more hand work in finish sanding = more time = mo' money.

I have not seen a bunch of stocks done with Tru Oil and that is what my smith uses to finish off wood stocks. My Shehane Tracker on my 1000 yard light gun was finished with an automotive clear and that is the type of finish I am looking to duplicate.

The type of wood would be a laminate not some fancy or exotic hard wood.

ATR, Have any pics of stocks you have finished with Armacoat? I talked with Murdoc earlier today as well.
