Clearwater BC

I am from Kamloops and the hunting and fishing opportunities are really good...that's not to say they will be as good as where you are coming from now, but they are decent for region 3. Due to sometimes very high snow levels the area can see clusters of larger winter kill than most, but that being said you're only a couple hours from Valemont and nearby Blue River so those are good hunting areas for moose and deer as well. Good wilderness and of course Wells Gray Park is right there. I know nothing about the fishing in the area, but I'm sure you can find plenty of good spots to check out. Don't know much about range activities though to be honest, I would be surprised if there was anything organized but you never do know. Heffley Creek back towards Kamloops has a good range, but you are looking at about an hour drive to get there. Kamloops has a good range as well, but that one you are looking at probably 2 hours to get to from Clearwater. Clearwater is a decent little town, with emphasis on little, but if you don't mind that lifestyle it would be nice..plus Kamloops is only 1.5 hours down the road for all your full scale shopping needs if you are a big box kinda guy. CO or DFO?
 
Clearwater has a rifle and trap range, also has a good gun club, the fishing is very good as my neigbor just gave me a 1 1/2 lb, kokanee from Dutch Lake which is rite in town, numerous lakes all around the Clearwater area and the hunting is very good, some of the biggest bucks have been shot in and around Clearwater, lots of snow machines around too, great place to live too, been here 8 yrs. now, new hospital and RCMP building so all around a good place.
 
heading down tomorrow afternoon......got til friday at 4 to decide wheter we are going to move........tough call ...been in Terrace for 16 years,but with 2 kids in Calgary and family in Merritt and Willies Puddle, Clearwater seems like as good a spot as any while still being affordable......as for work ....powerlines are powerlines same job different scenery
 
I worked on the Clearwater river for 7 seasons. Its a great area.
Great fishing (Dutch lake is not good, but has fish).
There is a rifle and trap range in town which is nice.

Can't comment on the hunting but my friends shoot their deer in the area every year.
