click no bang Barnaul 9mm minor

Is it just the picture or the primer pocket have a weird shape. It look not centered. Maybe an oversize primer pocket and the primer just fall off? As for the hard to open portion, maybe a bulged case or oversized bullet?

Primer had to go off, Because if there was none, the primer pocket would be clean. There appears to be primer residue in the pocket.

That's why it's confusing.

I've seem plenty of factory ammunition with no primers or backward primers.Or just dud primers.

But the primer pocket should look clean if there was no primer ignition. I suppose it's also possible during manufacture the primer went off as it was inserted in the case then dropped out. Weird, but I suppose it's possible.

I would just look at the rest of the ammo to make sure they all have primers in them. It's probably just one of those weird ammo things.

If this had no primer, how was it missed in the loading of the magazine? Are not all head stamps pointed up? It had to have been fired at some point in the manufacturing or loading process because as previously said the primer pocket is dirty.

If I had to guess, it looks like the primer pocket didn't form properly and the primer went off but did not direct the gasses toward the powder but blew it out backwards. I can see how you wouldn't notice a missing primer as loading rounds they are primer up. The residue points toward this as well. Maybe the primer pocket was covered over during the case coating process?

in the pictures I do not see the 2 primer holes. what makes sense to me is that the primer vents are not there and when he hit the cap it blew off due to pressure of the primer. take the ammo back and get a real box of good 9mm ammo, there are lots of it out there.

The primer looks weird. My Barnaul ammo occasionally have bad primers, but not as bad as this one. Sounds like a failed to ignite to me.

if you look close the primer went off as it is full of carbon, but with no flash holes for the fire to go through.
