I am thinkin about getting a climbing tree stand, anyone have one?
Anyone have any advise what to watch out for when buying one?
Any suggested models to buy?

Thanks
Dave

Shortly after I got involved in archery & bow hunting, and at the recommendation of a friend that has an archery shop, the one I bought is a Grand Slam Supreme model GS 2500MS made by API. It works well, seems to be well constructed, easy to use and comfortable. It's the first climbing stand I have tried so I don't have any comparison to judge by other than my friends recommendation. It comes with a safety harness and the only suggestion I have is USE IT!!! The use of a safety harness isn't an option, it's a must!

I know NOTHING of the tree stands, but I have learned this from another thread that was posted a while back. Beer and tree stands don't mix. :p

Summit Viper, Summit Viper, Summit Viper...

If your of the larger size,, Summit Goliath.

Ive also owned the API Grand Slam.

Get a stand with cable connecting system and not the chain system. Get one where its a sit/stand action too climb and lower yourself,,, dont get one where you have too use your hands too hold the top section while climbing.
