Clive M. Law, MStJ, FCMH (R.I.P.)

Hi all,

Clive was a good friend of mine. I will miss him a lot. He had an amazing level of knowledge on the Canadian Forces and an impressive collection of military uniforms, headdresses, badges, and militaria. His son is a member of the CAF. I hope that the collection is passed on to a museum or someone who can appreciate it. Clive and I share a love of Browning High Powers. He wrote "the book" (titled Inglis Diamond) on the Canadian made variant of this great pistol.

Clive died of a stroke. It happened on Sunday, June 4. He lost consciousness about an hour later and never woke up. He passed away a week later at the Ottawa Hospital. His funeral is Saturday. Contact me by PM if you want the details.

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.

Rest in peace my friend.

- Jayne

My condolences to Mr. law's family and friends. I enjoyed his works and on more than one occasion saddled up to the armchair by the fire and spent the evening with a scotch in one hand and Inglis Diamond in the other.

I heard this morning through the local Ottawa shooter network. Sad day, my dealings with him were always positive. A real gentleman. I believe he was around 63.

Sad news. Nice man. Back in 2004 I gave Clive and Roger Lucy a private tour of our local Legion Museum when he was in my town on government business. He borrowed some original photographs of early 25 pounders without the brakes from our museum for his book about them. It was a pleasure meeting him.
