Closest Miss and Worst Shooting!

I am happy to see there are so many confessions. I am not alone!!!

It must have been two if not three seasons a go at a tree stand 20 feet up. An adult size doe showed up 20-30 yards at the middle of the hill. I decided not to go for a head shot and put the cross hair on its chest. Bang and the doe jumped off down the hill. I took my time to unload the gun, had a drink and put all the things in the backpack before going to look for the deer.

My partner and I searched the whole area for 3+ hours. That doe was no where to be found and no blood trail what so ever. I concluded that I must have hit a twig and the bullet deflected.

Well, when you hunt long enough you will tumble across a miss like this!

Worst miss for me was a 150 yd shot with a 270 wsm at a whitetail buck. I was laying on a hill using a bipod which i hadn't noticed the mount had loosened off. I just got the deer in my sights and got got ready to pull the trigger when the bipod came off, the gun tilted down and forward causing the trigger which had my finger on it to depress leaving me with a broken nose and no deer.

I was walking around a small lake back from tracking whitetails for the morning. I stopped to take a leak and saw a coyote walking along the other side of the lake from me, I lined it up with the .303 and let drive...The coyote jumped about 5 feet straight up in the air and his feet were going like the road runner, he hit the ground running. My lithgow pulled a stupid enfield trick and flipped the empty back into the action instead of throwing it so I never got the follow up shot..when i got over to where the yote had been, Right under his belly I had shot a rock...chalk that one up to poor shooting hehe
