4 meters ,66 inch Brakenbury recurve #71 Draw , spine shot , near straight down, because when he went down , he was hooking the tree I was in with his antlers , a 10 point (east count) . A second shot through the lungs stopped the trashing. :)

A whitetail doe @ 6-8 feet, 50 cal muzzle loader. My father inlaw made this gound blind that you could barly see out of, the doe came into the clearing but pick-up a sent trail left the day before by some one, she walked back down the trail checking it out, which took her right past the other side of the blind and when I could see her I pulled the trigger.

Aslo a couple of black bears over baits sub 10 some from a tree and one from the ground and one spot and stalk, as well that was about as close.

Black bear.....I jumped from a tree stand on to his back.....wrestled with him for a while till he got tired then killed him with my knife:cool:

Okay, I didn't.......shot him from 20ft.

.22lr with stingers + starling with broken wing at 2mm = feathers in the air :D

i win!:D

I thought I had this one, but CH312 has me beat. While rabbit hunting during late February some years back, I saw a groundhog sunning himself on a snowbank. He spotted me and went back down his hole. They are extremely dopy at times like this when they should be hibernating, so I walked up to the hole, centered the barrel on it and waited for a couple of minutes. 2.75" 12ga, 1.25oz #4 shot @ 6" through full choke + groundhog = messy.

I never get lucky to have very close shots. I guess it would have to be about 25 yards on a decent whitetail buck a few years back.

Last year a buddy of mine shot a nice mulie buck at under ten yards with a .270. That deer ran about 500 yards through some seriously thick bush. I had never seen an animal go so far with so much damage done to it. Ran himself stiff :runaway:

6 pointer, directly under my stand!

My dad almost shot right through his floor on his stand once, he nodded off in it and woke up to see a set of spikes on one side and an arse on the other, a truck came by and scared the young buck off before he could get a shot.

coyote 7 yards, called in from behind me, walked in front, kind of aimed/pointed over the scope as all i could see was fur through it....
badger 3 yards same thing more or less....

Yearling Bull Moose, 9 yards, back of head, 308 Norma Mag, 180 Partition. He walked out on the trail I was on, me behind a few spindly alders. I'm sure he never heard the shot that snuffed him!! EE.

Called a yote into 130 yards then lip squeaked him across a little draw. He was out of sight until he stepped out at 6 feet from behind the blowdown i was tucked in beside. All he heard was the saftey come off the little .221 Fireball.
