From just after midnight on the morning of 6 June 1944 when the first paratroopers stepped out the doors of transport aircraft into the night and take the fight into occupied Europe till the closing of the Falaise Gap and the capture of the better part of the German 7th Army, today marks the end of the Normandy Campaign. Hard lessons learned and VE Day is still a long way off..............
