CLR a bore??

An one ever try using CLR on a bore to dissolve light rusting? Plug the muzzle,dump it in overnight and brush it the next day. Dang I am coming up with weird ideas today!!

CLR is corrosive , I know that. I’d be careful leaving it too long and definitely keep it off finishes or furniture. Just my humble opinion anyway.

I have 6 big bottles of that stuff that I don't use...…..

There are better products suited for this such as JB bore paste.

Start with hot (not boiling as it causes flash rust) water and soap and a few strands of copper wool around a bore brush, dont put down soapy water. Dry it out, and then a medium weight oil and more copper wool.
