I'm considering the option of moving to N.B. from Saskatchewan but I've trying to find info on clubs and ranges in the region. I've been looking at housing near Saint Johns (as it seems to be a mostly English speaking city) but I'm not really attached to one area over another. but ideally if I were to move being close to club that is active with IPSC/3gun would be a big plus for me. I tried looking online but as usual with any region it seems that clear info is hard to come by. currently my club in Saskatoon gets together every Wednesday night to practice IPSC (indoor) during the winter and 3gun (outdoor) during the summer, and they even do monthly matches. it would be really nice to find a club in N.B. that does something similar but as I said the info seems to be hard to come by or is severly outdated when searching google.

again I'm not fixated on being in Saint Johns (or specifically N.B. for that matter, nova scotia works to) as my work has me travelling all around the country anyways so I would not be moving there for "work" so to speak, just that it seems looking at realestate there that my dollar goes a lot further then it does out here, and could even have me living mortgage free which would be nice.

Some of the clubs currently involved with IPSC would be Hampton(near St John), Restigouche, Miramichi, Cap Pele, and Woodstock. Perhaps a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head, a new one in the Fredericton area as well. If in an indoor range is part of your search criteria, that really narrows things down. As far as I know, none of the few indoor ranges in NB currently hold IPSC matches. I think there's one in Nova Scotia that does.

Sussex, Springfield, Oromocto. Housing prices are depressed everywhere except Oromocto, Fredericton and Moncton. Sussex and Chipman are particular excellent buyers markets if you are not worry about work opportunities, Sussex being better for services and Chipman better for hunting and ATVing. Lots of private sales in Chipman with 30 year bungalows for as low as 60K.

You might need to consider the Halifax area, I believe AMA Dartmouth is the only place in NB and NS that holds indoor IPSC matches. In New Brunswick, check out Fundy Shooting Sports club, if the St John area is where you are starting your search.

You said you are traveling for work, how close do you need to be to an airport?

I'm a Welder/Steamfitter so my work is more based on moving around to where ever there is a plant shutdown or something along those lines. so being easily accessible to an airport is not necessary as I would usually just drive my vehicle to wherever the work was. for example i'm at the Darlington Nuke plant right now in Bowmanville, ON. once this outage is done ill be off work again and back home, so I leave for a couple months at a time its not a come and go on a weekly basis my work.

an indoor range is not a make or break deal for me, but being active in the sport at an outdoor range would suit me just fine. realistically though I would need to be in a majority English community, nothing against French but I cant speak a word of it and at my age I don't see me being able to learn much past the basics.

From what your tell us I would suggest you look into the Saint John, Fredericton, St George and St Stephen areas. All have year around outdoor ranges for handguns, rifles and shotgun (clays) I lived in NS a couple of years and personally would not want to go back there. PM me for a phone number if you would like further info.

I'm a member of the Hampton Rifle and Pistol Club, we have an excellent outdoor range approximately 30 km east of Saint John. We have acquired the land to build a new indoor range in the near future. We welcome new members and have a great group of members who are very active in all of the shooting sports.
