Hi guys,

I ordered a folding stock from CM manufacturing. Deal was smooth and delay as promised. I got it and it's nice and well made.

Sadly there are cracks in the USGI stock he (Joe) used. My other USGI stock doesn't have this. But he tells me that it's common and doesn't affect the stock function. I compared them squeezing, twisting and pulling and they seem to behave the same.

Here are pictures of the cracks. What do you think? Is it only cosmetic or can it affect stiffness and toughness?

I didn't picture the whole thing but it's similar to this:

I doubt that the stock would be adversely affected. If it were mine, I would use my Dremel, and with a small burr open out the area a bit to expose fresh material, fill with JB Weld or some such expoxy compound, and forget about them.

That's the parting line in the mold - all the GI fiberglass stocks have that line - the voids vary also from one stock to another.

its good to see someone grabbed one of those stocks. I will grab one once I have the moola... the skeleton folder is very nice looking IMO.
