CMMG .22 conversion for AR15

Just bought one 2 weeks ago, took it out last week. Its great. Perfect fit and finish. A couple jams with the first 5 rounds, but after that, the next 400 rounds were perfect. Seems everyone has trouble with the first magazine of bullets, but after that it eats anything. Even cheap .22's.
No regrets, very happy with product

They work great.

Know this:

*The firearm's bolt stop doesn't work (because there is nothing to activate it), so the (empty) magazine follower is designed to hold the bolt back until you remove the magazine. It's not a big deal, but the differences might create another training scar.

*.22LR is dirtier than 5.56 and, eventually, you'll have to clean your rifle

*The magazines take longer to load than to unload. You'll want more magazines...a lot more magazines.

A quality rimfire conversion like this one is one of the best things you'll ever buy.

Stock up on Federal Champion. Works decent with my Norinco CQ556 and with the previous owners Colt. Still jams every 50-100 rounds, but not too bad at all for a backup zombie survival... err plinker...

I have one I bought from questar. Doesn't work very well with my Colt AR15A2. I get jams about every 10 rds with every kind of ammo I've tried.

Mine works perfectly - as in undetectable levels of failure - with Winchester Dynapoints. It was fussy with several other brands. Every .22LR likes a specific type of ammo.

You might try a light polish on the guiderails.

I have one, it works great - straight drop-in. Your gas system won't get exercised since all of the moving parts are within the drop-in bolt assembly. If I fire the crappiest, oldest ammo I get the occasional misfeed, but other than that I have had no problems. I don't know how healthy it is for the bore (.22 is smaller than .224, so I would imagine the bullet bounces around and deposits lead) or whether any fouling is happening at the gas block, but I haven't personally noticed any issues whatsoever. Overall a good, cheap way to punch paper 30 rounds at a time.

Mine's paid for itself in a very short time.
very reliable and inside 50m there is no need to do any compensation
for POA/POI when switching between .22lr and .223

I've zeroed my ARs for 100m with .223 and all is good!

The unit looks the same as those military surplus units that were around years ago. I had one....good for training purposes/malfunction drills (which it did from time to time--ammo sensitive). Not steller in the accuracy department as the twist on most 223 barrels is way too fast (recommended 22 lr twist 1/14 or 1/16 I believe) and as a result supposedly caused a lot of fouling/leading. This led some companies to make dedicated 22 LR uppers as a result.
