Don't know if this has been posted before but this is a cool video of the 86000 Philippine M1 Garands returned to the US .
After watching this vid & checking out my M1 it turns out I have an original WW2 Springfield M1C SA-52

Here's some pic's of my needle in the haystack
Paid $240 from Disticorp for the rifle back in the late 80's
By ser # it's a ww2 Springfield M1C sniper that went through a USMC refit (SA52) which removed the scope rail & plugged the holes.
Rifle was returned to service as a standard M1 rifle .
Paid $119 US for the exact reproduction of the original Griffin & Howe scope mount system from Numrich a couple months ago .
Reinstalled the scope mount
Paid $10 for the original old Lyman Alaskan scope at a gun show recently .
Gun is currently in a Boyds walnut stock but I have the original stock & hand guards that were on it when it came back from foreign country service .
Not bad piece of history for around $400 bucks
