Just got one of the last remaining bolt action milsurp rifles offered by the CMP. A Smith-Corona 1903A3 340###x serial with a 11-42 barrel. The muzzle wear is a 1 and the throat erosion a 2. Good bore with plenty of rifling left. Only $522.95 shipped to my door. Should be a good shooter. These were returns from VFW, American Legion and other veterans organizations who used them for parades and ceremonies. Nothing but blanks usually shot from them since doing service in the military.

It joins my Service Grade CMP Garand and my CMP Mossberg 44 US trainer in .22lr. I need to save up for another Garand now $495-$895 depending on grading. :D

You're lucky, most of the VFW rifles I've seen have terrible bores. Those blanks cause all kinds of problems with the leades. Yours sounds like it was carried but not used in salutes.
