Want to buy my first 12GA sxs coach gun for target fun and my price range fits nicely with a Stoeger....wondering if anyone has had any problems that couldn't be fixed with a gunsmith tuneup. Next price bracket is (I think) a Baikal....should I go for the Russian tank? Thanks

Owned a Stoeger double trigger Coach in 12G. It was a skeet fun gun. Ended up putting 5K through it, and it was fine. Never had an issue.
Sold it on the EE a while back but bet it's still going strong.

Great little gun for the money.

I have the IGA Stoeger Coach for Cowboy action shooting. Its never done me wrong. The auto safety is a pain but easy to disable. Polished the chambers and installed a spring kit. Me likey.

I have a IGA Stoeger O/U and its been a great shotgun for the money. It was the gun that got me into trap shooting. I've since bought a Browning Citori and it doesn't get used too much anymore. IGA Stoeger shotguns are good bang for your buck. I've had mine for more than 10 years and its still going strong. I would never say they are in the same league as a Browning by any means, but they do work.

I have a 410 stoeger coach and never had an issue at all. have a 12g. stoeger with single trigger and gave me grief not firing the other barrell, sent it in for warranty and been gone now for 5 months and no word on it. but my 410 has two triggers and works flawlessley.

Ive heard the single triggers have trouble firing one of the barrels. Seems like a common problem. How did the repair turn out chevys only? Was Stoeger easy to deal with as a company?

I have a uplander 12/20 combo ,had a issue with a crack in forend ,I live close to stoeger and dropped the gun off in person so avoided the mail/shipping ,had no issues with repair and was happy with service , had my gun back in a couple weeks , after 1500 or so skeet loads ,still going strong , I did do a polish on the locking bar to get full engagement of the barrel lock as recoil on 12 ga was resetting safety after each shot fired ,is good now

I bought a stoeger 20g for grouse durring moose hunting. Short and easy to get out from behind the truck seat. If find I use it for shooting clays more than the 870's now as well. Great gun...probably over 1000 rounds through it by now and still works like new. Did have to modify the saftey though but quick and easy.

I'm not sure about the single trigger models but my coach gun with the double triggers had the issue of the safety being tapped on when fired so you couldn't get the second round off without pushing the safety forward again.
It's simply the auto safety that engages the safety when you break open the gun, the recoil causes the rod to tap the safety inside. The fix is to trim a bit off of that rod so that it can no longer engage the safety. No other gun I own automatically puts the safety on so it's a non issue. Quick and easy fix.

I looked at a Baikal coach gun in 12 ga. at CT in Yorkton. It was in the cabinet, so I didn't handle it. It looked like a real beast. Might be a tad noisy. Just might have to have one....soon.:p

Edit: Thinking about the coach gun at CT. It may have been a Norinco. Hmmm.....can't actually say now which it was.
