hope I am not repeating an older thread.........I am interested in a coachgun with external hammers.......what do you folks out there recommend .......the baikal or norinco......I dont want a stoeger .......I also like the cz although a little pricey for me.......thanks for your input

Canada ammo/Dominion arms puts on good sales. Got mine for for i think 149 or 199. Great fun for cheap. Little stiff etc and certainly not a collector or family treasure but everyone loves shooting it. Wait for a deal and jump. Anytime i can buy a new gun that is a lot of fun for less than 200, i am happy.

I've a CZ coach which is also quite stiff. Cannot fault the fit and finish though. The Rossi overland in either 12ga or 20 was the go to for many years. Hard to find now, and you'll pay more than for current low end new guns. The other alternative is to find a used full length and mod it. Keep a little extra beyond legal length for those measurement challenged folk.
Caviate: the space between barrels is hollow. Be prepared to make or cast a new nose cap.

I've been using a Baikal "coach gun" for, just a guess, twenty-five years and I really like the thing. It's utilitarian and the wood finish was so poor that I had to re-do it just because it irked me but it's fun to carry and it is great on grouse in thicker cover.
