Hello I’ve got a dominion arms (Chinese) ar I picked up really really cheap and it shoots actually not bad. But it does have the ugliest bbq paint job on it. So my question what brands of coating/paint have some of you used and what held up the best? Where can I order it in Canada?
Thanks

Trevor

Most people would us Cerakote. Its pretty much the industry standard these day. You can go with whatever color you want.

There are also a few dealers that offer the service, but you can also order it yourself.

Thanks everyone I appreciate all the info. This is just a cheap ar and I think I need a project to do over Christmas. So where are you guys buying this in Canada??

I did a receiver set in Wheelers Cerama-cote. Came out great and it's cheap and easy for a DIY project.

I also tried this coating, and I would say this is below average in comparison to other options. Be advised that it cures with an aggressive, almost brick-like texture. I was not expecting that, and it's a SOB to remove it so it's staying on my receiver lol.

I'm good with something that is hard to remove. I'd hate to have to redo it. I media blasted my receivers first and I can't say the finish feels any different than other coatings I've seen. A few nice light coats seemed to do the trick.
