Coatings for project gun

Of course leave the ring, its hardly shiny at all, and you can identify what leupold it is when or if I sell it, and on a big plus side it looks professional when you leave insignia marks. Did not cost me anything to refinish it as I own the company that manufactures the product, Yeah Tremclad not even close I will leave that to other people who do not value a quality protective finish.

Murdoc, a few questions:

1. How thick is Arma-Coat?

2. How resistant is it to abrasion and solvents?

3. Price?

I have an old beater defender shotgun w/zero blueing left on it and is not worth sending of for Nickel... may be a candidate for Arma-Coat if the price was right....and it has no properties of Teflon or Powdercoating (too thick, not abrasion proof....).

The thickness is 1 mil when dry. Solvent resistance is extrememly high, we have used it aginst all bore solvents and no effect in coating. To remove it you must sand blast the finish off at around 120 psi. Scratch and abrasion tests it passes a 2H pencil hardness level. Nothing like teflon or powder it is a polyurethane, so it is thin. Best thing about it is you can finish the gun your self. And if you ever damage the finish you can repair it yourself too.
