Cobourg RPAL Newbie!!

Hello people;

I am a proud CanadianGunNut newbie from a little town called Cobourg,we are one hour east of Toronto, right along Lake Ontario! Restricted firearms are new to me,the course was fairly easy,I was in possession of my RPAL 34 days after the CFC recieved my paperwork. I enjoyed sport shooting about 20 years ago and felt it was time to enjoy it again while our great (LoL!)goverment allows us the priviledge. My first choice of handgun is the CZ75 SP01 Shadow 9mm along with the .22cal Kadet conversion kit which will arrive anyday now.

Now its time for me to tour around and check out some gun clubs as there are 3 in a 60km radius, the closest being NPRC which is about 4km from me,I'll check them out first obviously, hopefully they are good, reasonable, and friendly people,if not I can travel a little north to Peterborough or east to Frankford, its all about finding the good group of people!!

Anyhow folks,I'm not up on any politics period,I understand the need to vote Conservative,so consider that done,I just hope they do something great for our economy along with protecting our gun rights! I am not highly educated, may not always use the right vocabulary or always spell properly,BUT AS A FELLOW CANADIAN GUN NUT I WILL DO ALL I CAN TO BE SAFE AND TO PROMOTE AND PROTECT OUR GUNS RIGHTS IN CANADA!

See ya's in the forums, and at the range in the days to come!

Well I decided to stay local and support the NPRC club,so last Sunday I went down and signed up as a probationary member and met a few members. It turns out, that my range safety instructor is the acting club president,Ninja Niziol, this guy is very professional, thorough and well educated in the sport. I now have 6 of 12 required signatures/shoots as per our provincial law, hoping to nail down the other 6 this week and do the appropriate theory portion of the course and exam also this week, then its the 3 month waiting game if I'm accepted by the board!

So at this point I am very comfortable dealing with the NPRC and would recommend this club to others!

A word to others newbies, patience is a must, but it will be worth it in the end!! This sport is awesome and provides a nice stress break!

Welcome back to a sport that needs your support. Spelling is appreciated, but not required. Your efforts in supporting our cause are all that are required.

Sig, head north of Cobourg, up Hwy. 45 to Rice Lake.
Fishing was great there, havn't been up in years though. Grand parents build a cottage there in 1936, we had it in the family till the late 80's early 90's.

And welcom MET to CGN
