Post No. 3 by The Spank is right on. I was born and grew up in Cochrane, and really can't add much to his post. If your 20 miles northwest, your going to be near the village of Hunta. Good farmland, lots of high ground. Bears should be easy to bait right on the property, but for moose, your going to have to head out onto Crownland. There may be the odd one wander through the propery, but not enough to count on.
Cochrane itself is in the claybelt, so there is lots of farms nearby, but to expand on what someone else said, the area is surrounded by not thousands of acres of crown land, but hundreds of thousands of acres.
