Cogswell and Harrison sporterised No3 Mk1

A friend of mine has a sporterised No3Mk1 that has a Cogswell and Harrison stamp on it .The stock is a really nice Monti-Carlo style.
5 shot mag etc.Are these worth any more than say a BSA sporterised Enfield.
He is asking $275.00 for it but I dont think that is worth this much.

Difficult to say without pics, but I'm inclined to agree with you. The only way I'd even consider paying that much would be if all the numbers matched, the barrel hadn't been cut, or the sights buggered about with, and the bore was in pristine shape.
And even then...
 
I have one - they are comparable to the PH's, and Churchills of the same vintage - and use the same stock supplier. Although less common, I'm not sure they command a premium over their commercial cousins. I think $275 is a bit pricey - heck, I'll sell you mine for substantially less than that!
 
Give him the $275 well worth it as they did a real nice job on the triggers! I have bought Westly Richards stamped long lees and NO1 mark3's and use them to make really nice sporters and singleshot target guns!Dale Z
 
Just to be sure, it's a No3Mk1 and not a No1 Mk III right? The No3 was the Patttern 1914 redignated after 1926 to a No3. It will be mauser action.
Just curious because i type it backwards at times.:wave:
