I have been shooting sub MOA with the above bullet from my Savage 12VLP 1:9 twist. It has the added benefit of being $4-5 a box cheaper than the similar Sierra bullet.

However this is a real long bullet, .980" tip to base. Because of this extreme length, .080" longer than the comparable Sierra bullet, I am unsure of what COL to use. I pressed a Hornady bullet into an unprimed case leaving it long, painted the bullet tip with a felt pen and chambered the round. I got a very distinct ring in the felt pen coloring at 2.343" COL.

I wonder if anyone has a Hornady manual nearby and could provide a COL for this bullet. I promise I will buy the Hornady manual real soon. These are accurate bullets at a reasonable price.

Thanks

If you mean the 68 gr Hornady BTHP (#2278) the COL for .223 Remington Service Rifle is 2.250" (same as the Max COL ) (69 would be the Sierra?)

Edited to add: Source is page 158 of Hornady 7th Ed.
