My reloading room was at 15°c for a long period of time.
Checked it out today and the ram on my LNL AP was stiff and sticky.
Tried a bit of Break Free CLP oil (transparent bottle) on the ram and all is now well.
Anyone has a favorite lube job, or conversely a lube that should be avoided like the plaque?

A good 30 weight oil on the ram should work i use it on my rcbs single stage. a good bearing/axel grease for the pivot points... But for standard grease 15c isnt that cold and i wouldnt expect it to cause seazing

I use standard weight 30 oil for the ram and bearing grease for the other parts as stated by Tom no issues but try to keep the temperature at 18C

I have a 1973 Rockchucker press and when depriming cases the primer residue falls and collects on the ram if oiled or greased. I got tired of cleaning and and lubing the press and tried something new.

The Hornady One shot case lube or One Shot gun cleaner and lube is a "dry" film lube that does not collect dirt and grit or get stiff in cold weather. I buy bulk once fired Lake City 7.62 and 5.56 brass and depriming 500 cases leaves a lot of primer residue and grit on the ram and press. And the "DRY" Hornady One Shot does not allow the primer residue to stick to the ram and does not get stiff when cold.

Below the Hornady One Shot Gun Cleaner with Dyna Glide Plus cleans and lubes in one step.

"Hornady One Shot Gun Cleaner-Dergreaser and Dry Lubricant reduces friction, cleans grit, grime and old oil from firearms and reloading equipment. It leaves behind a thin dry lube impervious to heat, cold or buildup."

I clean my ram every so often with Hoppes #9 and apply a light film of gun oil to the ram. Works well for me. I have a Lee classic cast and the primer catcher system on this press is great. Big improvement over my last press. No primer crud gets on the ram .Greatly reduced the intervals of ram cleaning and lubing.
