ask the guys in finland norway or sweden what they re doing ... it is colder in siberia than most part of canada and they people living there ...

It was a pain to strip but after 5 coats of antique oil over 5 days it is better then new. Or at least better then it was. Minwax antique oil I’m convinced is the same as Truoil without the fish smell. Much cheaper also.

That turned out great, and with a proper oil finish, no more cold weather cracking.

My Japanese Weatherby Mark V has similar spider cracks in the lacquer finish. Mint otherwise. Was a one owner gun from Vancouver before me. Maybe it happened from the cold shipment to Saskatchewan in December....
