I'm looking for some cold weather use reviews on various red dots.

After some recent failures while shooting a match in -15c and overcast conditions experienced the following:

Burris Fastfire 4: Functioned properly but circle dot reticle was dim and very hard to see. If it was very cold and sunny I don't think it would have been usable. Dot is one year old with about 400 rounds use.

Holosun 507K X2: This is a non solar version with the ACSS reticle. Dot would not turn on and would not function at all. Very disappointed. Dot is brand new and used twice. The specs state -20 as operating temp for this sight as opposed to -30 for various other models.

Holosun 515cm: I love this red dot, its very bright and functions perfectly, the auto brightness is always on point.

I'm in the market for different options to replace the Fastfire 4 on my shotgun and 507 on my pistol.

Thanks!

I had my 507C X2 out hunting in -20 and likely a bit lower with no issue. Reticle was left on auto and provided clear and sharp contrast every time I looked through it. It was only a handful of times mind you, but your experience is disappointing to hear. I would guess you may have a lemon..? If you want something that will work in pretty much any weather on earth Trijicon and Aimpoint will get you there. As far as red dots go I have P2s and T2s on my important stuff.

I dunno today what is reliable, Eotech had that whole #### show as well when their #### didn't work in cold.
How big can you handle on it? Mepro has tritium/fiber optics, nothing battery to screw up, built for military.
