Just hear me out folks.
I was watching a number of videos on bedding actions online and noticed most of the formulas were similar to Cold Weld you can buy in your local hardware store. I checked and you can buy J.B. Weld at Home Depot for $5.67 (enough for a 22 rifle anyway). I thought why can you not just use that stuff for bedding? There is no way chemical companies make special mixtures for the firearms industry. Too small of a market.
I went down to the workbench and found some old Permatex Cold Weld.

I found a cheap 14mm wrench (didn't want to use something good) and some standard light brown shoe polish (didn't have clear or neutral).

I coated the wrench with shoe polish. I mixed the Cold Weld up on some cardboard and placed the wrench into the Cold Weld overnight to set. Today I pulled it apart and the wrench came out easy. The resulting glass impression of the wrench even recorded the writing on the wrench. It was perfect.

Just suggesting this might be a cheap way to bed a rifle. They say you can even machine this stuff after.
Has anyone tried this before?
