Hello all,

I am interested in collecting Carbines.

I have a few limiting parameters, so I may focus my collection:

1. Caliber: 6.5X55 Swedish (Scan to some folks), .303 British, 7.62X54 Russian

2. Barrel Length 21.5 inches or shorter

3. No later than 1945, preferably the 1890's to 1918 era.

This still leaves the table quite open.

So far, to fulfill this desire, I have the following in my collection (along with a few other unusual pieces)

- 1898 Swedish M94/14
- 1906 Krag Jorgensen Sporter
- 1941 M-38 Mosin-Nagant
- 1944 No.5 Mk.I Lee Enfield

I am looking to slowly, over time pick up more carbines in these categories. My first stop is I am looking for one of the following:

Norwegian Krag-Jorgensen 1895 Kavaleriekarabin (Cavalry),
M/1897 Bergartilleriet og Ingeniorvapnet (Mountain artillery and Engineer),
M/1904 Ingeniorvapnet (Engineer),
M/1907 Feltartilleriet (Field artillery).

The reasoning behind the "one of" list of the above is that, to my knowledge, I understand them to be rare carbines to come across in non-sportered condition. I would love an M1904 or M1907, however very few of these were produced. According to Wapedia, A total of 2,750 M/1904 and 750 M/1907 were produced between 1906 and 1908. In comparison, again according to Wapedia, the M1895 and M1897 were a total of 9,309 made between the years 1898 and 1906.

If anyone has one of these carbines, I would love to hear about it, and to inspire discussion on the matter concerning their rarity, general expected price to pay for a decent specimen, and if anyone is selling one!

The next stop on my list is a Martini-Enfield Artillery Carbine. I have one in mind, and am working towards it over time.

I now open my offer for information to all of you here, what else can you suggest, within my parameters, that I may wish to add to my collection?

Thank you for your time and interest! I look forward to the discussion!

Yours Sincerely,
Drachenblut

P.S. If anyone has cut-down wood, but intact metal M94/14 Swedes let me know... I've restored one and it's started a small, and blooming expensive fever in me to bring back more!
